I used to be extremely negative about network marketing. However, like many people, I was ignorant, and had many misconceptions about the industry.
There is nothing wrong with being ignorant.
I simply didn’t know what I didn’t know.
However, back then I also had a closed mind, which I didn’t even realize at the time.
Nowadays, my mind is open to look at any type of legitimate business opportunity…
And it’s a good thing too, because I heard the most expensive thing you can own is a closed mind.
I also heard that your mind is like a parachute.
It only works if it’s open.
Here’s how my mind became open…
My friend Seth asked me to come to one of his network marketing company’s presentations.
He said he wanted me to evaluate it for him, because he “respected my business savvy and knowledge on supplements.”
My interest was piqued after that one-hour presentation.
To make a long story short, I ended up joining the company. However, before I took action, I made sure to do my due diligence.
I tried the nutraceutical products on myself for eight days, did 32 hours of independent research on the industry, the company, the products, and went to two company events.
Once I knew without a shred of a doubt this industry and company were legit, I become an Independent Distributor.
Over the past six months, I’ve been an eager, grateful, and humble student of the network marketing industry.
The main realizations I’ve had over this six-month period are:
- Most people are clueless on the business model and benefits of network marketing.
- A large percentage of these people would absolutely love network marketing if they knew the truth.

1. Residual Income
Residual income (aka passive or recurring income) is income that continues to be generated after an initial effort is undertaken to get it going.
Most people rely solely on earning linear income, which is compensation or payment in the form of a fee, wage, commission or salary.
The problem with linear income is that to continue to get paid forever, you have to work forever.
If you make enough residual income to cover your residual monthly bills and cost of living, then you are financially free.
I achieved financial freedom as a result of residual income, and you can too.
Network marketing is a proven way to earn residual income, and for most people it’s much easier than writing a hit song, investing in real estate, or opening a franchise.
2. Work from Home
One of my favorite aspects of network marketing is that I can work from home and other remote places.
The freedom that comes with choosing where you want to work is awesome.
Of course sometimes it is difficult to get motivated when you’re trying to work at home.
There are so many distractions!
And at times it’s even harder to get motivated to work when you have residual income being generated daily whether you work or take the day off.
I guess those are quality problems though, right?
3. Be your own Boss
When you become a Network Marketing Professional, you don’t have a boss telling you what to do.
You get to be the boss.
The tax write offs alone are a good enough reason to have a part-time network marketing business, but aside from that, you can actually become the Ultimate Creator of your Financial Future.
When you don’t have someone telling you what to do, you can use your creative power to manifest the business, income, and lifestyle of your dreams.
There are no limits when you’re self-employed.
Being your own boss takes discipline, and it’s not something I recommend for lazy people.
However, if you’re self-motivated and hungry for more in life, I encourage you to join a network marketing company.
You can start part-time without jeopardizing your current job, and you’ll have the ability to make thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars a month in residual income.
4. Help People
One of the best parts of being a Network Marketing Professional is helping people achieve financial freedom.
In my company, I’ve already helped people earn thousands of dollars a month in residual income.

When I joined my company six months ago, I already practiced personal growth on a daily basis.
However, since I became a Network Marketing Professional, my growth has skyrocketed into a new dimension.
This is mainly because of the leadership in my company.
At the direction of my business mentors, I started learning from icons like Jim Rohn and John C. Maxwell, as well as many others, and as a result, my personal growth and business growth continue to increase.
6. Learn from Millionaires
One of the main reasons I absolutely love network marketing is because I get to learn from people making way more money than me.
I already make six figures, but I want to be making six figures a month, not a year.
In network marketing, you get to learn from millionaires.
They teach you how to be successful. I view my first year in network marketing as “Millionaire Training Camp.”
If I do everything my millionaire mentors tell me to do, I’m sure to become a millionaire as well. It’s just a matter of time.
Two years, five years, seven years…it will happen eventually, and the best part is that I get to help people become millionaires with me.

7. Dream Vacations
Most network marketing companies have a variety of incentives, such as cash bonuses, car programs, and dream vacations.
The company I’m in has three all-expense paid vacations for distributors that qualify:
- Emerald Trip
- Executive Trip
- Presidential Trip
I actually got to go on the Executive Trip after being in my company only two months. One of my business mentors, Matt Parkhill, qualified for the trip and took me as his guest.
It was unbelievable.

8. Human Connection
Before I became a network marketer, I was isolating a lot. I was making a good living as a blogger, however, my life was missing something.
I was missing human connection.
In a typical month, I would spend most of my time on the computer, with my daughter, or by myself. I might hang out with a friend once or maybe twice in a 30-day period.
After joining a network marketing company, I instantly had a new peer group of positive people.
And they all shared the same vision I had about the importance of wealth, health, and time-freedom.
Now that I’ve grown a substantial downline of distributors underneath me, my list of friends keeps growing on a daily basis.
My life has become rich with human connection and positive, powerful relationships.
9. More Time with Family
I know a lot of people that make great money and even love their careers, however, they are earning linear income.
That means they are trading their time for money, and to make the money they need to provide for their family, they have to sacrifice time with their family.
There doesn’t have to be a sacrifice.
With the powerful vehicle of network marketing, you can work part-time from home, and generate so much residual income that you can have both money and time with your family.
10. Low Startup Cost
If you were to open a Subway franchise, on average this costs about $200,000. The average Subway franchise owner works 40 hours a week and makes $60,000 a year.
Let’s say you decide to become a lawyer. You’re going to be in school for 7-8 years, and after that, you’ll typically have an enormous amount of debt from school.
The average lawyer in the U.S. earns $133,000 a year.
If you want to become a doctor, you’re going to spend eight years in school, then 3-7 years of residency training, before you’ll be eligible for medical licensing. Plus, again, more debt from school.
The average Family Physician in the U.S. earns $167,000 a year.
Now let’s take a look at the startup cost and time-investment to become a self-employed Network Marketing Professional.
For the price of an iPhone…or less, you can get started in most network marketing companies. The learning curve is small, and in a few months you should become proficient in your network marketing skills.
I know people that have only been in my company for two years, who are making double the average annual salary of a doctor, but they make this money every month, not every year.
Oh, and it’s residual income.
If a doctor gets sick or injured and can’t work, they don’t make money.
Same thing for a lawyer.
If a Subway franchise owner gets a call from an employee that is sick, and they can’t get their shift covered, the owner has to make sandwiches wearing that silly hat…next to teenagers that don’t want to be there.
If a Network Marketing Professional making that kind of money can’t work, they still generate residual income.
Thus, for the price of a new iPhone or less, you have the ability to make hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of dollars a month in residual income.
